courtiful ("we," "us," or "our") operates the courtiful web application (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.
Personal Information You Provide: When you create an account, we collect your phone number and first name, and optionally your skill level. You sign in with your phone number; we do not offer email sign-in. When you join a crew or create a session, we collect the session details you provide (date, time, location, format).
Availability Data: If you use the availability feature, we collect your preferred playing times, preferred locations, and sport preferences (tennis, pickleball, padel).
Usage Data: We automatically collect information about how you interact with the Service, including pages visited, features used, and session participation history.
Google Calendar (optional): If you connect Google Calendar, we access, with your permission, the free/busy times of the calendars you choose and a separate "Courtiful" calendar that we create to hold the sessions you join. We use free/busy times only to show you as unavailable to your crews and partners (others never see your event details), and we only write events to the Courtiful calendar. We store an encrypted access token, which you can revoke at any time by disconnecting in Settings or in your Google Account. Courtiful's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data for advertising, do not sell it, and do not use it to train AI models.
Coaches and their students: If you are a coach's student, your coach may add you to their roster by providing your name and phone number. We use this only to send you that coach's lesson offers, bookings and cancellations by text (only after you opt in to that coach's lesson texts), and to keep your lesson and package history with that coach. Until you book a lesson with a coach, that coach sees only the details they entered, not your Courtiful profile or availability. Reply STOP to any text to stop them.
Device Information: We may collect device type, operating system, browser type, and IP address for analytics and security purposes.
We use the information we collect to:
Provide, maintain, and improve the Service; verify your identity via one-time passcodes sent by SMS; match you with hitting partners based on availability overlap; send you transactional notifications about sessions you have joined or been invited to (e.g., session reminders, cancellations, open spots); display your name and profile to other members of crews you belong to; and analyze usage patterns to improve the Service.
If you sign in with a phone number, we text you a one-time verification code you requested. Session texts (when someone in your crew posts a session or invites you to one) are sent only if you separately opt in by tapping “Text me updates” on the “Get texts about your sessions?” screen we show after you sign in (or by turning texts on in Settings → Notifications). Opting in is not required to create an account or use courtiful, and agreeing to these Terms or this Privacy Policy does not by itself opt you in to text messages. Message frequency varies based on your activity. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts from courtiful at any time.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing with subcontractors in support of our services (for example, our SMS delivery provider Twilio) is permitted solely to provide the messaging services you have opted in to receive.
With Crew Members: Your first name, profile photo (if provided), and session participation are visible to members of crews you belong to. Your phone number is never shared with other users.
With Service Providers: We share information with third-party service providers who assist us in operating the Service, including Supabase (database and authentication hosting), Twilio (SMS delivery), and Vercel (application hosting). These providers are contractually obligated to use your information only to provide services to us.
As Required by Law: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
Your data is stored on servers provided by Supabase, which uses industry-standard encryption for data at rest and in transit. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted database connections, row-level security policies, and rate-limited authentication endpoints.
While we strive to protect your information, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service.
Deleting your account: you can delete your account at any time in the app or on the web, in Settings → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and permanent: your profile, phone number, any email address on file, photo, friends, crew memberships, availability and chat messages are deleted. Upcoming sessions you organize are cancelled and their players are notified; past sessions remain in other players' history without your name. Records we must keep for legal or regulatory purposes (such as SMS delivery and consent logs, and reports submitted about content) are kept only as long as required and are no longer linked to your account.
Depending on your location, you may have the right to: access the personal information we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate information; request deletion of your account and associated data; opt out of SMS messages; and export your data in a portable format.

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
The Service is not intended for individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
